Grants Program

The goal of the SARI/Equity Grants Program is to provide support to civil society institutions to initiate/replicate/scale-up programs to reduce violation of human rights and to enhance opportunities for women and children who are vulnerable, victims/survivors of violence.

Regional Grants
The Grants Program seeks applications from non-U.S. local NGOs in target countries to enhance cross-border and intra-regional collaboration in promoting equity for women and children. Grant awards are available for organizations or networks of organizations that encourage cross-border or inter-regional learning opportunities to replicate and scale up already existing good practices, and foster collaboration and advocacy efforts among networks.

Types of SARI/Equity grants:

Discovery Grants - to enable cross-border, intra-regional study experiences between an NGO and a mentor NGO.

Replication Grants - to support replication, innovation, scale-up and institutionalization of proven ‘good practices’ from South Asia (see SARI/Equity’s ‘good practice’ documentation under Action Research).

Network Grants - to strengthen existing networks within the region in their action and advocacy efforts.

India-specific Grants
  SARI/Equity also administers:

INL Grants – specifically for India-based anti-trafficking initiatives, funded by International Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement Agency through USAID.

GTIP Grants – initiated in Mumbai and Goa, funded by the US Presidential Initiative to combat Global Trafficking in Persons through USAID. The two-year program aims at combating trafficking and sexual exploitation of women and children by improving the prosecution of exploiters.
