Do fellows get a stipend during
the fellowship?
No, the SARI/Equity fellowship program is open for professionals
from all segments of civil society, including non-governmental organizations
(NGOs); community based organizations (CBOs); the media; the legal
profession; think tanks and research institutes. The applicants
should have been working on issues related to Violence against women
and children, anti-trafficking in persons, migration and gender.


Yes, we expect applicants to have a) an undergraduate degree and
5 to 10 years of work experience, or b) a postgraduate degree and
3 to 7 years of work experience, in areas related to Violence against
women and children, anti-trafficking in persons, migration and gender.

The fellowship can extend over a period of 4 to 6 months. 

No. The fellowships are not the same as grants. Organisations
should not apply for funding under the fellowship program. For further

SARI/Equity accepts applications, and decisions are made, on a rolling
basis. At present, we are accepting applications from civil society
professionals in Bangladesh, Nepal and Sri Lanka. We encourage you
to apply for the fellowship program as soon as possible, to be considered
for fellowships in 2005 and in the beginning of 2006. 

No, the fellows are required to be based at SARI/Equity’s
office in New Delhi, India. 

SARI/Equity works on issues related to gender and migration, anti-trafficking
in persons and combating Violence against women and children in
South Asia. We encourage action-oriented research projects related
to these issues, particularly those with a regional dimension. 

No, SARI/Equity only accepts applications from nationals of Bangladesh,
India, Nepal and Sri Lanka, who also work in these countries.

The applicants need to email SARI/Equity, a completed application
form (downloadable from www.sariq.org/fellowships), a 1-2 page project
proposal and a time-line, detailed curriculum vitae (CV) and a letter
of support from the home organization (where applicable). 
Yes, SARI/Equity provides the fellow with a monthly stipend of 700USD,
a housing allowance and return airfare to the country/place of residence.
